Employment & Occupational Activities Network
This newly formed group will focus on those working with people with Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC) in the area of employment (mainstream, supported and social firms), but also other occupational activities for example therapeutic daytime activities such as making crafts, gardening etc.
The provisional aims of the group are to share information, look at mapping of what employment and occupational activity services are currently available, identify gaps, share good practice and work together. This Network would hopefully enable all those involved to be more aware of the work and remit of other projects to assist all those involved in supporting people with ASC into the most suitable options for them, particularly if they come across a client who they are unable to assist directly themselves or work in a service that refers on.
The Network is aimed at those involved directly in managing/overseeing the previously mentioned ASD specific employment and occupational activity services and ventures, but key persons in relevant other bodies such as Careers Scotland, Job Centre Plus and the Scottish Government are also been involved.
