Joining the Scottish Autism Network

It is free for anyone to join the Scottish Autism Network and all events and materials that we provide are free to those using the Scottish Autism Network.

Anyone who lives or works in Scotland can join the Scottish Autism Network, whether you a person on the autism spectrum, a family member, carer, friend or professional working in the field of autism spectrum disorders. You simply need to fill in a membership form and agree to our Participation Principles.

Participation Principles

The Scottish Autism Network aims to be an independent and inclusive project and as such has developed Participation Principles that will assist members, and those involved with the Scottish Autism Network, to ensure that it is fulfilling these aims.

The development of the Participation Principles have been developed by members of the Scottish Autism Network Development Group and National Centre for Autism Studies management.

Everyone who intends to participate in the Scottish Autism Network will be asked to reflect on these Participation Principles before taking part. Becoming a Scottish Autism Network member and/or attending Scottish Autism Network events is open to everyone, provided that each and every person who takes part makes a personal commitment to these principles of participation. We hope that those wishing to join the Scottish Autism Network will adopt these principles and join us in order to network together in the best interests of people with autism, their families and friends, and the professionals who work with them.

The Scottish Autism Service Network is developing a mailing list which will enable people to receive regular newsletters and information about ASD services, research and practice in Scotland. We are also developing a database of professionals, services and organisations in the field of ASD and would be very pleased if those of you who are practitioners would consider being part of this.

If you wish for your details to be added to our mailing list or for your organisation/services details to be included on our database, it is essential that you complete this form as we cannot include you in either of these without your consent. Please complete the details below and ensure that you sign the box to agree to the conditions. The information that you provide will be used for the following purposes:

  • To receive copies of the SASN newsletter and ASD related information on research, resources, events, training and services across Scotland
  • To receive information regarding local autism networks and how to participate
  • For details of your organisation to be included in a national database
  • To refer queries to appropriate professionals and organisations (for instance if a professional, person with ASD, or parent telephones us for advice on a matter your organisation deals with we will pass on your organisations details so they can contact you directly)
